MY NEIGHBORHOOD! – Station 3 Look! we´re having fun! (15 julio)
🌍 ACTIVITIES IN THE WORLD
🎯 Objective:
To identify and describe daily activities done by children around the world using simple present tense verbs through cooperative and meaningful learning experiences.
🏠 PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE (Home Activity):
With the help of your family, choose a country (e.g., Japan, Brazil, Egypt). Bring a small flag, picture, or drawing that represents that country. Think about: What do children do in that place?
🔍 EXPLORATION:
-
Begin by showing a world map and asking:
👉 Where is Colombia?
👉 Where do other children live?
👉 Do they go to school? Do they play like you? -
Watch a short video or slideshow showing children doing daily activities in different countries (e.g., walking to school in India, helping on a farm in Mexico, dancing in Nigeria, or playing music in Peru).
📘 CONCEPTUALIZATION:
🗺 Children around the world do many different things every day!
Let’s look at some daily activities using present tense verbs. These help us say what people do.
-
🚶♂️ Walk to school – In some countries, children walk long distances.
-
🍚 Cook with family – Some kids help prepare meals.
-
🎶 Sing or dance – Music is part of life everywhere!
-
🐐 Take care of animals – In the countryside, children help with animals.
-
🧹 Clean the house – Children help keep their homes tidy.
-
📚 Go to school – All children learn, just in different ways.
🗣 We say:
-
They walk to school.
-
She helps her mom.
-
He takes care of goats.
-
We clean our house.
These actions may be different, but all children learn, play, and help at home. 🌎🤝
🧩 APPLICATION (Collaborative & Cooperative Activities):
-
🌐 World Activity Wheel:
In groups, students spin a world wheel with countries and act out or describe an activity common in that place.
Example: “In India, children walk to school.” -
🧳 My Passport Page:
Each group chooses one country. They create a “passport page” with drawings and sentences.
Example: “In Kenya, children dance and sing.” -
🎤 World Kids’ Talk Show:
In pairs, one student is a child from another country, and the other is the host. They role-play:
“Hello! Where are you from?” – “I am from Peru. I play music with my family.”
🏡 CONNECTION WITH DAILY LIFE:
Every child in the world has a story and a daily routine. By learning about others, you grow in respect, curiosity, and global understanding. You are part of a big world! 🌍💞
📌 HOMEWORK:
✈️ Choose a country and write three sentences about what children do there. For example: “In Japan, children go to school and clean the classroom.” Draw one of the activities.
